In the middle, within two concentric blue circles, there are various flowering plants springing from the lower edge of the inner circle, with a border of branches and floral sprays (blue and red) interrupted by three looped up drapes. On the reverse, outside the footring, there are two concentric blue circles, a narrow band of red scrolls, a blue circle, and large continuous blue scrolls overlaid by three polychrome narcissus sprays. Within a blue circle, there is the six character mark of Chenghua. The dish has a label attached: circular paper, printed in red and green, with an apple tree surrounded by the words '*Holzapfel* Collection'.
