object type: Soft-paste porcelain painted in polychrome enamels and gilt. Circular with twelve indentations in the edge, sloping rim, and shallow curved well, standing on a low footrim. The plate is decorated in the centre with a monogram comprising a C in gold, and an L formed of pink roses and leaves. On the rim there are three oval medallions containing sepia towers surrounded by gold frames and roses, alternating with three kidney-shaped panels containing polychrome landscapes surrounded by gold frames, and flanked by gold swags terminating in tassels. The edge of the rim is gilded.
