The circular bowl is slightly everted at the rim, and has two cast scroll handles with beaded edge and female head thumbpieces. The bowl stands on a low splayed foot with a flat foot-ring. The lower part of the bowl is embossed and chased with a broad border of acanthus and stiff leaves, and is engraved with the arms, gules two lions passant guardant in pale argent with a rose above, on an oval surrounded by foliated scrolls, and having at the top a female mask with a panache of feathers on its head.
