The bell-shaped cup stands on a sloping foot and has a double-curved handle. The saucer has a wavy edge, curved sides, and a circular central depression. The plate is circular with a wavy edge, slightly sloping rim, shallow well and flat centre. Each piece is decorated with two adjacent medallions enclosing photographic images of Prince Charles and Lady Diana Spencer, with below a pale blue ribbon below printed with ‘29 JULY/THE MARRIAGE OF/H.R.H. THE PRINCE OF WALES/AND LADY DIANA SPENCER/1981’, and above and around the medallions with pink, yellow and blue flowers and green foliage. Also with a red griffin, standing over sprays of thistles, leeks, shamrock (?) and a rose, coloured blue, yellow and green, and pink and yellow respectively. These motifs are printed on opposing sides of the cup. On the saucer and plate, the griffin and flowers motif is repeated twice.
