The chatelaine comprises two shaped triangular hinged sections; the uppermost with a long spatulate hook. The front is decorated with cherubs and a stork within borders of scrolls and rocaille decoration. Suspended from the top section are two acorn-shaped thimble cases (A & C) with screw off lids (B & E). Suspended from the lower section is an etui (E) with openwork mounts decorated with birds, flowers, leaves and scrolls. The hinged lid has a sprung button clasp set with a brilliant.
