object type: Gilt metal, cast and chased; the seal set with a carnelian.  The shaped triangular openwork upper section resembles interlaced ribbons.  Attached to a hinge at the base are five rows of four linked openwork plaques in the shape of intricate knots; they in turn are attached to an openwork bow with suspension loop.  On either side of the hinge hang two linked plaques, each with a fob clip.  Suspended from one clip is a seal (A) with a domed handle; the back is decorated with punched borders of beads on a striated ground, and the carnelian face is carved with a coat-of-arms beneath a ribbon.
