DESCRIPTIVE DATA

object type: The steel blade is straight and double edged, flaring towards the point which is slightly cusped. A medial ridge runs the full length of the blade, and there are with wings at the base round which an iron loop is twisted. At the forte is a massive reinforcing bar, shaped like a sword blade, attached by four great rivets. The hilt comprises a figure-8 guard, thin grip swelling to the centre, and a large, deep dish pommel through which the tang is riveted. The hilt is covered with black paint, the blade polished bright and deeply pitted from earlier corrosion. The edges are nicked in various places.
