At the base of the blade are two slight wings. The blade is brazed to a separate socket, which has a brazed seam down one side, a dentated lower edge, and two small reinforcing rings, the upper decorated with diagonal incised lines, the lower a slightly cog-like ring which helps secure the socket to a fragment of the original bamboo haft.
