object type: The head is of steel, originally with a crescent-shaped blade and a solid block pierced for the haft, faceted and decorated with incised lines around the rear. The haft is modern, made of a plain piece of bamboo, fitted with a wooden knob at the butt, and with an iron ferrule at the top. The surface of the head is polished bright pitted and stained from earlier corrosion. The upper point of the blade is completely worn away
