It is stamped XXX in imitation of European bladesmiths’ marks. The hilt is plain, of iron with short quillons ending in rounded terminals, long langets with large lotus bud terminals, a baluster-shaped grip, broad, flat dish pommel with a chrysanthemum flower washer, medial dome and a pierced finial. Attached to the lower quillon is a well-curved knucklebow with a stylised lion head finial. The blade is nicked and patinated, and the whole is polished bright.
