  <description>
    <value>The blade of steel is straight and double edged, cut down from an imported European broadsword blade. The hilt is formed of two broad rectangular section bars joined by a grip formed of two bars with large conjoined central lobed knops, and smaller knops at either side joined to each other with additional central knops. At the front is a deeply curved concave bar attached to the blade by heavy langets terminating in lotus buds, with three rivets. The bars and langets are bordered by bands of engraved guilloche or wavy lines, the ground between being hatched and formerly silvered overall; only traces now remain</value>
