The hilt comprises a steel guard and knucklebow, and grip and pommel of a single wood plaque at either side. The guard is a narrow oval, with a finial at the top and a knucklebow ending in a recurved globular finial. The grip is bent, and the pommel of lunate form, and riveted to the tang with four rivets.
