Carved from a single piece of wood, with a long tubular cuff with a medial ridge, bordered by a double incised line, and a rounded section for the hand carved with eyes, teeth, nose and mane as a lion. Issuing from the mouth of the beast is a round section, capped with an iron ferrule, and slotted to take a wooden practice blade.
