The thick, straight foot-ring has been cut with a knife. The shoulder bears four pairs of applied florets with incised details, originally joined by loops which now have been broken. The jar is otherwise plain and has lost its lid. The glaze is of a subtle jade colour and has a subdued gloss and a fine crackle; the body is fine-grained in texture. The glaze has been wiped from the foot-ring before firing and there are traces of seven fire-clay spur-marks. title: jar NOTES ----- type: history note value: unknown before donor LICENSING --------- text license status: CC0 image license status: CC-BY-NC-SA OWNERSHIP --------- instutition: The Fitzwilliam Museum department: Applied Arts creditline: Given by Dr W.M.
