object type: Of steel, with a pistol grip, short quillons, short, broad langets, a knucklebow with a duck’s-head terminal attached to the lower quillon, and a parrot head pommel. The whole is covered in floral scrolls in gold koftgari. The ‘eyes’ of the parrot are formed as raised rings roughly where an earlier rivet might pass through the pommel.
