Incised above these at either side are medallions with flower bud finials at either side, inscribed in gold overlay on the outside in Cyrillic 9/1890/19 ZP and on the inside Pezpr V Szparasov. The hilt is of bone, of waisted form attached by two rivets with silver heads decorated with niello, and copper alloy rosette washers.
