candlestick (one of pair)
Silversmith: Welch, Robert
Silver, parcel-gilt. The circular foot rises up in the centre in a concave curve. The silver cylindrical stem is enclosed by 'die-stamped formed tubes' of balls on rods, highly polished and hard gold-plated. The nozzle is of the same form as the foot, but inverted and with a narrow upstanding rim and a central cylindrical socket for the candle. The base is filled (probably with plaster) and is covered with green baize. (with AAL.4B-2004)
