The edging plates are lacquered dark red with a black meandering patter, and gold lacquered tachibana mon, (orange blossom). Joined by blue lacing to seven sugake laced kusazuri, each lacquered to match the do. The lower plates were covered in bear fur, but this has been roughly removed. The shoulder straps are lacquered dark red with green silk cords, ending in double gourd terminals lacquered dark red. The sode are associated, of gold lacquer kebiki laced in red, lined with blue hemp. The kote are of blue hemp printed with sprays of flowers and foliage in white. They are covered with small scales lacquered to match the do, joined by mail, with dark red lacquered petalled bossed at the elbows, and dark red lacquered hand and thumb defences, the hand defences with the same mon. The haidate are formed of three rows of sales matching the do, and a bottom layer of dark red lacquered scales. The fabric section matches the kote.
