The little boy is seated on top of the barrel with his left leg forward and his left hand resting on its calf. He holds a bottle in his right hand and leans forward, as if becoming sleepy. He has tousled hair and wears a frill around his neck, and open-necked shirt and breeches. The vat stands on four rectangular feet. Its sides are incised to resemble staves and near the top and the bottom has a band of reeding.
