He has tousled hair and wears a frill around his neck, and open-necked shirt and breeches. The vat stands on four rectangular feet. Its sides are incised to resemble staves and near the top and the bottom has a band of reeding. Low down on the front there is a closed trap for a spigot, kept shut by a short bar through a loop.
