Stoneware, thrown, painted in iron-oxide and celadon-glazed. This maebyong-shaped vase has a short neck with everted rim. The body has a wide, rounded shoulder and narrows gradually towards the foot. The low footring is cut with a knife. Brown iron-oxide was used for painting stylised chrysanthemum-like petals around the shoulder and foot, and three sketchy floral sprays around the body. The glaze is of greenish-brown colour, somewhat unevenly applied, and has a fine overall crackle.
