object type: Of steel, circular and formed in a shallow dome, chiselled with a central zone of chiselled and gilt hunting scenes in which riders with spears, bows and swords slay a variety of wildlife. Around the edge are calligraphic medallions in Nastaliq. In the centre is a medallion inscribed and gilt β€˜al sultan Nazir Shah 1304’. Nasir Shah is the Qajar Nasir al din Shah ibn Muhammad (r.1848–95). There are four bosses, with pierced lugs inside. The shield is lined with red cotton. The lining is stained and  damaged round the edge.
