object type: Of steel for the left arm, comprising a gutter-shaped plate rounded at the elbow, chased and detailed in gold koftgari with three medallions two men whispering about another who is stabbing a cat and preparing a saucepan for it, the same men whispering while the third cooks the meal, and the third man serving the meal to a noble, all within a border of scrolling foliage. There are two wrist plates joined by butted mail and decorated with small panels of chiselled foliage. Lined with red cotton and bordered with chevronny black and yellow tape. The hand defence, now detached from the main plate and from its lining, is of butted mail over thin leather with a red fabric lining. There are some vestigial buckles and strap loops, but the piece was never intended to be worn.
