Porcelain, thrown, with parts attached, painted in cobalt-blue and glazed. This globular ewer has a curved upright spout, a handle of twisted strands across the top, and a deep angular footring. The flat lid has a knob in the shape of a seated animal (perhaps a cat). The ewer is painted in underglaze cobalt-blue with sprays of flowering chrysanthemum and a key-fret border at the rim, and the cover with chrysanthemum leaves.
