    <value>Silver, pierced, engraved and die stamped.  The cylindrical case with pierced sides engraved with dogs and reeds.  The pull-off lid and base set with die-stamped and/or engraved counter-size portrait medallions of James I surrounded by the inscription "GIVE THY JUDGEMENTS O GOD UNTO THE KING", the reverse with a portrait of Prince Charles, later Charles I surrounded by the inscription "AND THY RIGHTEOUSNESSE UNTO THE KING'S SON".  The box contains 11 counters of a later date, each crudely engraved with a portrait and, on the reverse, a coat-of-arms or symbol and/or name or initials, including "BUCKINGHAM", "WREN" "RUBEN" AND "J.R".</value>
