The narrow handle has a flat upper surface but is curved underneath. It terminates in an openwork finial, possibly representing the head and arms of a figure. The whole spoon is decorated with incised and black inked decoration. The inside of the bowl depicts an urn and stylised flowering plant within a rope border; the back of the bowl depicts a walled city, a river and a variety of trees.
