object type: Shell and silver; the bowl and handle are carved from a cowrie shell (Cypraea spec.) the bowl from the curved back, the handle from the columella.  Pinned to the front and back of the bowl is a triangular mount chased with arabesques.  This is attached to a similarly decorated silver ferrule which is pinned to the handle.
