The surface of the tortoiseshell is inlaid with gold piqué work scrolls, foliage and latticework. The dessert fork has four silver-gilt tines. The dessert spoon has an oval silver-gilt bowl, on the back of which is a chased stylised leaf and rat-tail. The fork and spoon both have flat scales of tortoiseshell pinned to the top and bottom of the handles and joined by a narrow moulded border of silver-gilt. The tortoiseshell scales are decorated with gold piqué work scrolls, foliage and latticework to match the knife.
