object type: Squarish iron tsuba with rounded corners. With a chocolate colored patina. Forms shaped like ogi and uchiwa (fans) and decorated with enamel and gold with birds and blossoms. One ogi shows the figure of Fukuroku ju shakudo gilt. These fan shapes are in relief from a surface which is further decorated with a stream, shibuichi or silver zogan. Similar treatment on the other side. Signature: Hirata Karihina
