BINDING: sixteenth century, parchment leaves ruled in red ink stiffened with paper, drawing of a star within a circle pasted above Christ’s monogram and the year 1544 on upper cover; protected within a modern parchment sheet. CONTENTS: fols. 1r – 11r Ordinary of the Mass. ORNAMENTATION: fol. 12v shield of arms inscribed Sixtus Bregell (or Bregolt), with a double eagle in black and red ink, and the year 1544; two discoloured red pen-work initials [5 ll.] with black penwork infill and decoration outside their red frames for the consecration of bread and wine (fols. 5v, 6r); red penwork initials [1 – 4 ll.] with foliage ornament.
