object type: Tile from calligraphic frieze or hizam. In group of four (C.3-6-X). Pinkish-buff earthenware, the upper surface covered with a black, lustrous glaze through which the background of the design has been cut away to reveal the bare body, leaving the glazed design in relief. Approximately square. A Nashki inscription continues over three tiles; the fourth tile may be an odd one.
