The glaze on the vase of the saucer has the appearance of orange peel, and is lightly speckled. The Bute-shape cup has an oval ring handle. The circular saucer has shallow curved sides and stands on a low footring. The cup is decorated inside on its base with three red leaves on a stem, and below the rim with a narrow border of pairs of red circles enclosing a stroke, alternating with a horizontal green line with two red dots above and below. A pale orange band encircles the rim. On each side of the exterior there is a large yellow shell surrounded by blue, and red stylized flowers, two with black centres, and green sea weed. On the back of the handle there is a puce leaf with a vertical line below it, and two spots on the terminal. The saucer has the same border and shell motif in the middle, surrounded by four wavy red stems with four green spots on either side of each, and four tiny red sprigs between them.C.72 & A-20101accession numberC.72 & A-2010177453priref177453200920092009-07-24entry form number1027200920092009old object numberI.G.2urihttps://data.fitzmuseum.cam.ac.uk/id/object/177453https://data.fitzmuseum.cam.ac.uk/id/object/177453on base of saucer near footringprinted faintly in redNew/Hall within two concentric circlesfactory markcircular white paper stick-on labelon base of both pieceshand-written in black inkI.G.2labelreferenceagent-149638adlib-agent-1496387376d833-d0a7-3be0-916e-9c892b7a24d8The Fitzwilliam MuseumDr Milo Keynes Bequest, 2009referenceagent-152614adlib-agent-1526144bc39ed1-f16c-3ad3-8c47-b6aa5d81cb97Keynes, W.
