object type: Hybrid hard-paste porcelain, bat-printed onglaze in grey-black, and gilded. The Bute-shape cup has a circular ring handle. It is printed on one side with a  vignette of a castle on a mound beside a river, and on the other with a group of farm buildings with trees behind them, and in the foreground, two men riding ponies and another man walking beside them. The rim is encircled by a broad gold band with a narrow band immediately below it, and with another round the base. The back of the handle is decorated with seven stylized stems of leavs of graduated size.
