Formed of a single plate strongly curved transversely and slightly curved longitudinally. It has a nearly straight front edge and a slightly curved rear edge. Its front corners are strongly cut out in concave curves to clear the horse's ears. The rear edge and the cut-outs have plain outward turns. Three externally flush rivets at the front edge retain a modern buff leather hinge to attach the poll-plate to the shaffron.
