<value>This plate was made for the American market and bears the retailer's mark of Davis Collamore & Co. Ltd of New York. It was decorated by Thomas Sadler who had little formal education, and was trained at the factory. He became an expert flower painter, and was best known for his rose painting, which was very popular in the United States. He was active between 1892 to after 1906.</value>
