object type: Cream ribbed silk with polychrome silk embroidery using a mixture of floss, twisted and chenille silk threads in satin, stem, chain and a tied cross-stitch.  The back and lining of linen.  Stand collar; skirts diverge at an angle just below the waist.  Buttonholes uncut, hook and eye fastening.  Flaps over sham pockets. Believed to be of Irish origin;  embroidery provincial rather than highest quality.
