 Inscribed inside front cover : "Liber Coll Sidney-Sussex ... bought March 11 1668/9". Also bookplate of Viscount Mersey, Bignor Park and inscription on front end-page: "Mary Hutchinson from her Father, 1857".
 Laid in hand-written presentation card: "Presented to Mr. C. W. Scott-Giles O.B.E., M.A. (Cantab) by the Scottish Branch of the Institution of Municipal Engineers in appreciation of his services as Secretary to the Institution".
