The circular plate has a raised wavy edge, a slightly concave rim, sloping sides and a flat centre. The latter is mottled overall with grey and has a central splodge of green and yellow. The rim has a repeating border of four pairs of serrated leaves over basket work alternating with four butterflies or moths flanked by floral sprays. The moths and pairs of leaves are painted in green and yellow which has run down into the well.
