<value>The typed list of the seals transferred to the Department of Applied Arts from the Coin Room in 1977, states that the seals were collected by Lt. Col. C.B. Crofts Lyons instead of Lt Col. G.B. Croft Lyons. Failure to locate a C.B. Crofts Lyons, the date of the gift, and a gift of seals to the British Museum from the same source, indicate that the Lt. Col. G.B. Croft Lyons is correct. See the Victoria and Albert Museum's 'Research Guide, Donors, collectors and dealers associated with the Museum and the history of its collections', online, for short biography and bibliography.</value>
