The dish is oval with a narrow rim, deep and slightly sloping sides and a flat central area, which is supported on the underside by four strips of copper without enamel. Decorated in the centre with a prunus branch and a spray of poppies surrounded by a narrow pale blue border with darker blue foliated scrolls and flowerheads over it. On the sides there is a pale and dark pink diaper pattern, which is interrupted by four oblong shaped panels containing respectively: a spray of roses, a prunus branch, a spray of daisies and two sprays of pinks. On the rim there are black foliated scrolls and flowerheads embellished with gilding. The underside of the rim is pale green. The back is decorated with a central spray of with an open poppy, a half open poppy, and a bud.
