This rare 18th-century example was made by Robert Clarke, an important fan-maker who operated from 26, The Strand. The fan required extensive repairs to the paper component due to large splits on the outer edge of its folds, as shown by the photograph taken before treatment."},{"value":"This fan forms part of the collection of the Hon.
