Hand-coloured flowers and a die-cut scrap mounted at upper centre and lower centre with a printed paper scroll at lower centre bearing the motto: 'FONDLY THINE SWEET VALENTINE'. Inside is the handwritten inscription: 'Pene / 1864'. See also no. 31, which is another valentine apparently sent by or to the same person, 'Pene' (possibly an abbreviation of 'Penelope') and dated '1863'.
