The title is written in Dobbs's house-style at upper centre: 'Fire-Side / Companions'. A pair of novelty fire screens composed of silvered and glazed chromolithographs of flowers bordered with silvered paper and with gold tinsel 'handles' applied. The screens lift up to reveal Dobbs's handwritten motto, from left to right: 'U', 'and I'. 'DOBBS' and 'KIDD' blind-stamped onto the embossed bows at upper left and lower left. The interior is blank.
