object type: White stoneware, press-moulded with integral relief decoration, applied handle, and salt-glaze. The sauce boat stands on an oval moulded foot. It has shallow curved sides with shaped rims, and a projecting curved lip. The reeded handle is ear-shaped and has a slight kick at the lower end.  The sides are decorated with shells, interlacing stems and panels of diaper and wicker pattern, and there is a large shell with a small shell over it under the lip.
