MOVEMENT: Full plate with stamped 'MN' conjoined. Steel balance cock, 'C' table, pierced foot. The foot has been bent up with the table welded on. Iron dumb bell balance. Iron pinion pinned to spring arbour meshing with iron wheel with stackfreed. Iron stackfreed spring, flat foot, screwed to plate. Ring sink for iron locking ring, engraved 2 to 12. Internal teeth, iron three-armed spider screwed in centre to retain ring. Plate engraved with fern ring around edge and stamped 'MN' conjoined in round cameo. The plate has a triangular hole under the balance cock, and other unused holes. The back plate has four rectangular pillars engraved with three lines. Plain iron time barrel, iron train and crown wheel. Potance cock under dial, no case bolt. Engraved bass counter-potance protecting train, fixed with screw. Plain iron striking barrel, iron train. Engraved brass gate. Hammer under striking main wheel. Engraved brass piece partially covering striking barrel screwed to back plate. Iron catch to release dial plate. Front plate, unde dial, second time wheel brdige, flat cock potance. Brass wheel on time barrel arbour, iron hour wheel and star wheel. Time train, fixed barrel, planted anti-clockwise. Striking train, fixed barrel, planted anti-clockwise. BRASS EDGE: Gilt brass, engraved tapered edge, flat dial surface. Ring with hour dots visible next to dial from III to VIII approx. On the back, next to the movement, is an engraved outer ring and central recess. The centre appears to be brass sheet brazed in. DIAL: Silver, fixed by hour pins. Radial Roman chapters, quarter hour ring, alternative black wax filled sector and polished sectory. Half hour line between chapters, with a chased design of birds and flowers, black wax filled. HAND: Blued steel, double pointer end and sward handle counter-poise. BELL: Straight sided, inside scratched with '4406', 'ED', 'Es/-/-', '5863', 'SD' and 'AD1583'. CASE: Cast (?) brass, pierced and chased. Central bulbous band, plain recess each side with wavy band outside this. Back pierced and chased with stylised verse of flowers, turned drop, bulbous turned pendant with ring bow. The bezel has a chased edge, and twelve heart-shaped apertures with small reversed heart-shaped apertures inside. Centre pierced plaque, with the inside chased. The chapters do not align with the holes in the bezel.
