Balance bridge with pierced table, polished steel coquette, and small feet. Brass balance with banking pin projecting from the under side. Large silver regulating dial, scale ends 'A' and 'R', steel hand. Repeating speed regulated against small scale, ends engraved 'G' and 'L'. Fusee top pivot cock, and counter potance, screwed to back of plate, feet engraved. Rectangular fusee iron post. Case bolt on brass edge, through slot in plate. Rectangular potance screwed to plate. Counter-potance with polished steel end plate and adjustment screw. Repeating barrel fixed to back plate and engraved. Pillar plate with four turned pillars with tapered ends. Fusee and chain, wound through dial, set-up ratchet under dial. Verge escapement. Train planted clockwise. Runners, four pinions, penultimate pivot in eccentric regulating plug. Runners planted anti-clockwise. Made in Switzerland. BRASS EDGE: Gilt, edge engraved, fixed by two screws through edge. DIAL: Day of the month indicator. White enamel on copper. Radial Arabic quarter numbers, with light red half-quarter marks between, dotted minute ring, radial Arabic chapters, and an inner radial Arabic date ring 1 to 31. The winding hole is at 4 o'clock. The back of the dial is marked in the counter enamel. '52'. BELL: Marked '279' in ink on inside UNDER DIAL WORK: 1/2. 1/4 'broken' rack repeating mechanism, repeating rack with chain over pulley. Polished steel parts. The intermediate calendar wheel has been replaced, calendar click spring soldered to foot. HANDS: Gold plan calendar, blued steel spade hour and plain minute. CASE: Gold consular. Engraved bezel, body and edge of back which also has sound holes around edge. Bull's eye glass. Scratched inside bezel 'C1083, B44.' Bell damping slide.
