object type: Verge watch in gold repousse case.

MOVEMENT: Full plate movement engraved 'J Leroux Charing Cross 2688 CS'. Balance cock with pierced and engraved table and foot. Polished steel balance. Slide plate pierced and engraved, silver regulation dial with radial Arabic numbers 1 to 6. Plate scratched '529' under balance cock foot. Pierced fusee iron post. Potance, moulding at end of foot, screwed to plate. Rectangular counter-potance riveted to plate. Polished steel case bolt with flat decorated foot, nib through dial. Pilla plate with four square baluster pillars, jointed riveted to plate. Under dial scratched, through gilding, '75T'. Fusee and chain, tangent set-up under barrel, barrel with one lip. Verge escapement. Train planted anti-clockwise.

BRASS EDGE: Three pillars, narrow turned plan edge around dial recess.

DIAL: White enamel on copper with counter enamel, three feet. Radial Arabic 5 mins. ladder minute ring, radial Roman chapters, inner line ring.

HANDS: Blued steel beetle and poker.

INNER CASE: Gold, plain. HM London 1770, maker's mark incuse 'PG' under incuse fish (head to the left). Scratched mark inside '3' over '9166' and '19835'. Scratched on outside of body '1070' and 'O/9/9'. Plain bezel. Gold pendant having cheese end with applied rose on end, oval stirrup bow.

OUTER CASE (A): Gold repousse bezel and body. Body with classical scene within rococo frame. Inside with smeared maker's mark, incuse 'PG' under fish, head left.
