The globular pot stands on a footring. It has a D-shaped loop handle with a vertical ridge, an upward tilting spout, and a low domed cover with a ventilation hole and a flower knob on a stalk with two leaves; the underside of the rim and the flange which fits inside the neck of the pot are unglazed. In the wall behind the spout there are five holes to emit the tea. On side of the pot, is a panel edged by fine scrolls, in which a Chinese lady sits on a barrel-shaped stool beside a tree, looking towards a little boy who stands with his arms outstretched. On the other side, a Chinese man and woman stand beside a table. The woman holds the left hand of a little boy who stands and points with his right had towards the viewer's left. Above the handle and spout there are shaped panels of red diaper pattern edged by thin black scrolls, and below are similar panels with black and red stylized flowers and foliage above them. There is a red and black sprig on top of the spout, and a red formal flower or star with dots and dashes above and below it. The cover is decorated with semi-circular panels edge by black scrolls, one containing part of a gree and clumps of grass, and the other, a fence flanked by clumps of grass. Between them are panels of red diaper pattern and black and red stylzied foliage and flowers.
