The globular pot stands on a footring and has a short cylindrical neck, a slightly curved, upward-tilting spout, and a D-shaped loop handle. The wall behind the spout has six holes to emit the tea. The domed cover has a ventilation hole and a knob in the shape of a flower on a stalk with two leaves; the underside of its rim, and the outside of the flange which fits inside the neck of the pot are unglazed. On each side of the pot there is a circular reserve framed by gold scrolls and short strokes, enclosing on one side two exotic birds and two plants, and on the other, one exotic bird and a plant. Under the spout there is an oval reserve with a gold frame enclosing a rose bud and leaves. There are four sprays of gold leaves at the junction of the top of the handle with the body, three at its lower end, and two leaves, two spots, two dots and a stroke down the back of the handle. The cover has two oval reserves with gold frames enclosing a butterly and another insect respectively.
