The oval pot has a curving shoulder, an upward tilting spout, and a harp-shaped handle with a rounded kick at the lower end. The oval cover is slightly domed and has a ventilation hole and an oval urn-shaped knob. The pot and cover are decorated with scale blue grounds, and reserves framed by gold scrolls and oval beads. Both sides of the pot have a large shaped reserve, one containing Japanese-style flowers and wheatsheaves, and the other flowers and an insect. On either side of these there are narrow shaped reserves containing a flowering plant, and on the shoulder, two smaller triangular reserves containing half a flower and foliage. There is an oval reserve containing a floral spray under the spout. The cover is decorated to match.
